My Teaching Philosophy
Progressivism. I believe in the core and traditional ways of working with media. Such as painting and drawing. Every major art program requires core classes like drawing, design, art history. I also believe these topics can be blended together and taught with new technologies.
My influence for teaching would simply have to be the power to inspire people. Think about it like it’s an equation with each class you may have thirty students, multiply that with the amount of classes you have in a day and times that by a year. We end up teaching to a lot of people. Some lives we may touch and influence, some we may not. I teach art to feed my hunger of being creative and whatever job I have being creative will always be a part of it. I also want to inform students with real life skills and possibilities that I was not given in school. The phase “I wish I knew then what I know now” rings true here. Knowledge is power. It’s sad to think about it this way, but think about it as if you were a product. The more skills you have and the more things you can do it does make you more valuable in the work field.
